Farnham Lions Club

The Lions Club of Farnham was established in this charming town in 1968, as the local arm of Lions Clubs International. It has since been a major contributor to the well-being of the local community, which includes Ash, Aldershot, Haslemere and villages around Farnham.

We raise over £50,000 a year through a number of fund raising activities, including Farnham Beerex, Charity Golf, Entertainment Evenings and the Town Carnival. Yuletide sees us rattling buckets outside local supermarkets and collecting food donations from selected streets within the community. The proceeds are distributed to a variety of worthy local causes such as The Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice, the Bells Piece Cheshire Home, Woodlarks Workshop, HomeStart, schools and needy families and individuals.

Although our efforts are aimed primarily at the local community, we are by no means insular. We support the relief of suffering worldwide and have regular exchange visits with our twin club in Frankenberg, Germany, helping with each other’s projects.

Whilst providing these services, we try to ensure that our members achieve enjoyment through light-hearted participation in social events, fund raising and distribution, and the satisfaction of seeing the results of their efforts.
