In number we are mid - forties, in outlook we are broad, in gender we don't mind.
The growing female membership of this, once all male, Club is having a positive impact that even the grumpiest of us cannot deny.
In July 2008 we consummated this new relationship by electing our first ever female Lion President, Sheila Pook.
We have backgrounds too varied to list here and, anyway, it doesn't matter. Most of us agree that being an effective Lion is our greatest challenge.
The main thing is that we have a common interest in serving those less fortunate than ourselves in the community, and enjoying good fellowship and fun in the process.
We all enjoy a beer (or two...) and a natter, even in the midst of our more earnest activities.
None of us believes we are more important than those we seek to serve.

We are always on the look-out for new members to share in our
work and fun.
Even if you have very little time to spare, at present, you could
still make a valuable contribution as an Affiliate Member or a Helper.
If you
think you fit the bill, contact the Membership Chairman or any of the other
members listed on the "Contacts" page; you are assured of a warm
welcome.
Why not start with one of our Dinner Meetings? These are usually held
on the second Tuesday of each month and offer an excellent evening of good fare
and good fellowship.
