Saturday 3rd September 2022

Family Session 12.00 - 4.00pm

Adult only session 5.00 - 9.00pm

Saturday 3rd September, Gostrey Meadow sees the return of Farnham Cider and Sausage Festival, with more bangers, more cider, extra live music, plusÖ Fun for the whole family including farm animals, face painters and scavenger hunt.

Itís not just about the cider and sausages! We have food for all tastes and a wide choice of drinks at the bar. We have live music and did we mention the cider? With many more ciders and perries than last year from local, and not so local, providers, right in the heart of Farnham.

Farnhamís Annual Cider and Sausage Festival is an open-air event that will be held in Gostrey Meadow, close to Farnham railway station, and the Central and Waggon Yard car parks.

To enable the maximum number of people to come to the ticketed event safely we plan two sessions, from 12:00 to 4:00pm and 5:00pm to 9:00pm. The 12.00-4.00pm session will be a family session where all are welcome into the Meadow. The evening session will be for adults only aged 18 and over and all ticket holders may be asked to provide photo ID by our security team at the gate.

So what's happening?

Firstly we have booked a couple of live covers bands to play, giving us a real party vibe. Already confirmed for a second year are The Fabulous Funky Funks for the evening session. The Funks are a band made up of session musicians who have all played worldwide. They joined forces in 2010 and have been playing together ever since. The Funks have the funkiest, magical back line: The "ginger ninja" on drums, "Mr Smooth" on bass, the "Italian Stallion" on keys and "Mr B" on guitar. On the front line we have Liam who brings beautiful harmony to the group and Jody who is small but powerful with her vocals! This 6-piece Funky Disco Band will bring some serious sounds to our event, playing all your Funky favourites to make you dance the day away. We are also delighted to announce that we will be well and truly entertained by 'Something 4 the Weekend' at the lunchtime session.

Whilst listening, enjoying and perhaps even dancing to the music, you will be able to sample and enjoy numerous types of cider provided by local producers including Tutts Clump Cider and Jars Cider from West Berkshire, The Star at Godalming who have been voted CAMRA Cider pub of the year eight years running, Touring pourers with a selection of ciders and Wrights Lions Brewery with a full bar with real ales, prosecco, wines, spirits and more all offered alongside various food stalls offering a range of sausages from traditional English bangers to specialist sausages with a total of seven food providers to serve the expanded event.  We have suppliers including teas and barista coffee, and a select range of other foods including Thai, Simons Pies with hs own home made sausages and The Vegan Street Diner will also be joining the party with their vegan American style Hot Dogs to ensure we also have vegetarian, vegan and gluten free offerings catered for! And a new introduction this year will be a tasting plate cooked and served by the Chefs from Heavens Kitchen in East Street with sausages entered by local butchers to try to gain the accolade of "Sausage of the festival" voted on by you from the tasting plates available to purchase.  All profits from the tasting plates will be donated to the Phylis Tuckwell hospice, so please do come along, buy a plate, enjoy the great tastes our local butchers have prepared and support Phylis Tuckwell at the same time.

The stalls, marquees and gazebos will be spaced around the perimeter of the meadow to allow everyone to enjoy easy access to them, whilst seeing and hearing the entertainment from the stage where the band will play throughout the event. We are happy to allow you to bring a small folding chair into the meadow if you wish to sit for your comfort during the day, but please do not bring any tables, food or drink which will not be allowed.
